We are so excited to announce the launch of the Lincoln, the Place to Be Campus Ambassador pilot program this fall. The program works to connect young professionals to careers, places to live, things to do, ways to volunteer and each other with the goal of increasing the number of college graduates that build their careers in Lincoln. Meet our Ambassadors!
Grace Stephenson is an English Major with a Theatre Minor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). Even through Grace’s first visit to Lincoln was in February 2019 during frigid, icy weather, she still fell in love with the city around her. “I loved how Lincoln offered that midwestern feel even in a more urban setting. Everyone I interacted with was so kind and welcoming and really made me feel like UNL was the perfect new home.” Grace is expected to graduate in May 2023.
Josh Shrader is a junior at UNL from Norfolk, Nebraska, with hopes of graduating in 2023. He is studying Advertising/Public Relations, Hospitality, Restaurant & Tourism Management and Political Science. Josh has been at Ameritas since January where he works as a marketing and community relations intern. He chose UNL because it had always been his dream school growing up. As a little kid, he would get so excited every time he traveled to Lincoln. “I’ve loved this place since I was a young’un and now that I call it home I have gotten to explore the many ins and outs of the city and gotten to create my own experiences! I have found my favorites all around Lincoln; favorite restaurants, coffee shops, bars etc. Additionally, I love how well the community and college atmospheres mesh together.”
Jess Conrad came to UNL from Elkhorn, Nebraska, after living in five different states across the country. She is currently studying Hospitality, Restaurant & Tourism Management, along with a minor in Leadership and Communication and Business. Her favorite thing about Lincoln is how both big and small the city feels. There are lots of opportunities socially, academically and professionally that make Lincoln feel like a big city…but also small enough where those opportunities are easily accessible! When Jess isn’t studying or exploring her city, you can find her interning for UPC Nebraska, planning events for her sorority Chi Omega and a number of other activities around campus.
